ChocoChore: The Ultimate Family Guide ๐ซ
Welcome to ChocoChore! This app turns boring household tasks into a fun game where kids earn points, unlock rewards, and learn the value of hard work. Here is how to get your family started in minutes.
๐ Step 1: Getting Started (For Parents)
1. Create Your Family
Download the app and sign in (you can use Apple Sign-In for speed).
Tap "Create a Family".
Give your family a name (e.g., "The Smith Squad").
You are now the Admin (Parent)!
2. Invite Your Family
Go to the More tab > Invite Member.
Tap "Generate Code".
Share this code with your spouse or kids.
For Kids: They download the app, select "Join Family", and enter the code.
๐งน Step 2: Setting Up Chores
Create Templates (Save time!)
Don't type "Wash Dishes" every day. Go to More > Chore Templates and create standard jobs:
Clean Room (50 Points)
Walk the Dog (30 Points)
Empty Dishwasher (20 Points)
Assign a Chore
Go to the Dashboard.
Tap the + button (Quick Actions).
Select a template, choose who does it, and set a due date.
Pro Tip: Use Smart Scheduling (in the More tab) to assign "Make Bed" every single morning automatically!
๐ฎ Step 3: For Kids - Let's Play!
Check Your Dashboard
Open the app to see your "Upcoming Chores". It tells you exactly what needs to be done today.
Do the Work & Prove It
Tap on a chore (e.g., "Clean Room").
Do the job!
Tap "Complete".
Take a Photo: The app will ask for a photo proof. Snap a picture of your clean room so Mom & Dad know you actually did it!
Earn Streaks
Do at least one chore every day to keep your Fire Streak ๐ฅ burning. Don't let it go out!
โ Step 4: Approval (Parent Mode)
Kids say theyโre done? Let's verify.
You will get a notification: "Alice completed Clean Room".
Go to Dashboard > Pending Approvals.
Look at the photo proof.
Good job? Tap Approve. The kid gets the points immediately.
Messy? Tap Reject and leave a note (e.g., "You missed the socks under the bed"). They have to try again.
๐ Step 5: Rewards & Shop
This is why kids love ChocoChore. Points = Prizes.
The Reward Shop
Go to the Rewards tab. You'll see things like:
1 Hour Screen Time (100 Points)
Ice Cream Date (500 Points)
New Video Game (5000 Points)
How to Redeem
Kid: Taps "Redeem" on a reward.
Parent: Gets a notification. You hand over the reward (or unlock the iPad) and tap "Approve" in the app to deduct their points.
๐ฐ Step 6: Allowance Mode (Pro Feature)
Want to teach financial literacy?
Go to Family Settings and enable "Allowance Mode".
Set a rate (e.g., 10 Points = $1.00).
As kids earn points, their virtual Wallet balance grows.
Payout: Kids can tap "Request Withdrawal" in their profile when they want real cash. You pay them in real life and mark it as "Paid" in the app.
๐ Leaderboards & Avatars
Leaderboard: Check who is working the hardest this week. Is it Mom, Dad, or the kids?
Avatar Shop: Kids can use points to buy cool hats, glasses, and outfits for their in-app character.
โ ๏ธ Important Note for Parents
Privacy: Photos you upload are visible only to your family members.
Virtual Money: The "Wallet" in this app is a tracker only. No real money is processed through the app. You must pay the allowance cash or transfer it via your own banking app.
